I made this for a close friend of mine who’s going through a difficult time right now. A few weeks ago, I received a tearful call from her after finding out that her father was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer (I forgot the exact term she said but it was around the stomach area). They need to start chemo as soon as possible since the cancer is spreading fast. The doctor told them they can choose to fight but they still need to prepare themselves for the possibility of what’s to come. 

A couple of days after that, we planned to start a fund raising project to extend financial help for her family. The hospital bills, just with the chemo, will cost them a fortune. The original plan is to make this design available in various products to help with the costs. Her father was set to start with chemo just a little over a week ago so I figured I should start setting up this poster some time this week. 

And then last Thursday at around 10pm, I found out that her father has succumbed to the cancer, just a few weeks after he was diagnosed. I can’t even begin to imagine what they must be going through right now.

Even though I originally intended to sell this for a different purpose, I decided to still push through with it to help with the funeral costs. This design, a piece I’m calling the “Brightest Stars”, is now available in various products at my RedBubble, Society6 (it’s free shipping on any product today), and TeePublic (the tee is on sale for only $14 instead of $20 for 24 hours). All of the proceeds I’ll be gathering from the sales will be donated to support my friend and her family. I really loved the sentiment of this quote and I hope that it can uplift not only her, but also you who’s currently reading this, in case you’re going through, or have gone through, a rough time at some point in your life.

I will greatly appreciate anyone who can help me boost this and I’ll be sure to let my friend know of your support and generosity when I meet her later today. Thanks to all of you in advance. I hope you hug your loved ones when you get the chance and tell them how much you love them.
